Plastic Packaging From Cangzhou & Dongguang: Containers, Bags & Films
Cangzhou & Dongguang: Packaging for Every Shelf
Cangzhou and Dongguang in Hebei form a dense plastic packaging cluster: disposable food containers and takeaway boxes, plastic shopping bags, ziplock bags, vacuum bags, food packaging films, stretch film, shrink film, composite film, plus bottles, drums, and crates. If a product is packed in plastic, this region can usually make it — at every order size from cartons to containers.
Food-Grade Is the First Question
If your packaging touches food, start with food-grade compliance. Confirm the material (PP, PE, PET, PS, PLA compostables), whether the factory holds food-contact certifications (FDA, EU 10/2011, or your market's standard), and whether printing inks are food-safe. Ask for the certificate with your RFQ, not after — it determines which factories you can use at all.
Containers and Takeaway Boxes
For disposable containers, specify material, capacity (ml), wall thickness (microns/gauge), whether it needs a lid, microwave or freezer compatibility, and if you want custom shapes or standard ones. Many factories hold standard molds, so tooling costs are low unless you need a bespoke design. Custom color printing on containers usually needs a minimum quantity — check it early.
Bags and Films: Gauge, Size, and Print
For shopping bags and ziplocks, the two price drivers are material thickness (gauge/micron) and print complexity. Specify dimensions, thickness, handle type (die-cut, T-shirt, loop), and whether you need degradable or recycled-content film. For stretch and shrink film, specify width, thickness, roll length, and stretch percentage. Print quality varies widely — request printed samples at your actual design before mass production.
Order Sizes and Lead Times
The cluster's strength is flexibility: trial runs of a few thousand bags are common, and standard items ship fast. Custom-printed orders typically need 20–30 days plus print proof approval. For bottles and drums, molds (if custom) add 15–25 days. Build in buffer for print approval rounds — that is the most common source of delay.
QC and Shipping
Check before shipment: gauge/thickness uniformity, print registration and color accuracy, seal strength on bags (ziplock resealability), container integrity (no cracks, warping), and food-contact documentation if applicable. Packaging is light and bulky — volume matters for containers; film rolls pack densely. FOB Tianjin with palletized export packing is standard, and the whole cluster is experienced with export documentation.
