Choose the Right Pump

The pump's flow rate must match the fountain's size — too weak and the water barely spills, too strong and it splashes. Ask your supplier for the recommended pump spec (head height and flow in L/h) for the exact fountain model, and confirm the pump is easily accessible for cleaning.

Marble Quality Matters for Outdoors

For permanent outdoor placement, denser marble resists weathering better. A polished or sealed surface repels water and minimizes staining. Ask whether the fountain is sealed for exterior use; if not, consider a breathable stone sealer after installation.

Winter & Cold-Climate Care

In freezing climates, standing water inside a fountain can crack the stone when it expands. Drain the fountain, disconnect the pump, and cover or bring smaller pieces indoors before winter. This simple routine prevents the most common cause of fountain damage.

Keeping Water Clean

Regularly remove leaves and debris, and use a mild algaecide designed for decorative water features (never harsh bleach on marble). Clean the pump filter monthly. Good maintenance keeps mineral buildup and staining minimal, so the marble keeps its polished look.
